With recent geopolitical and economic trends in the international system, a definite shift in attention has occurred from the unchallenged supremacy of the West to the rising presence of the East. Although Northeast Asia contains several of the world’s most powerful and economically prosperous countries, their potential is not currently being used in mutually profitable cooperation.
