In the present communication, an attempt was made to create a hierarchical system among the known laws and concepts used in microbial ecology and ecological biotechnology. Considered scientific material from the field of population biology and microbial ecology, which, by its significance, has already received the status of rules, concepts or laws. The ordering and establishment of subordination among laws and concepts in accordance with their universality is described. The laws that have a mathematical expression and concepts, grouped in the concept of universal or specific. The ways of organizing known, new and future scientific results are discussed. Examples of solving theoretical and biotechnological problems and tasks are given, based on laws and concepts in microbial ecology.
