The N-contg. polydentate transition metal complex is shown as C28H32+2mN6+2xO2+m+6xCl2yM, wherein M is Zn or Cd or Co; 0 ≤ m ≤ 0.53; x is 0 or 1; y is 0 or 1. The N-contg. polydentate transition metal complex was prepd. by (1) preheating polyphosphoric acid in reactor to 100°, adding p-phenyldiacetic acid and m-phenylenediamine under stirring, stirring at 200~ 220°C for 4~ 5 h, cooling to 70°C, adding 3 times ice water, stirring for 0.5 h, filtering, washing, adjusting pH to 9, filtering, washing, recrystg. and drying to obtain 2,2'-(1,4-dimethylphen-1',1"-diyl)dibenzimidazole ligand, and (2) reacting with 0.01 mmol/mL chloride or nitrate of Co or Cd or Zn for 10~ 14 days to obtain target product. The inventive N-contg. polydentate transition metal complex has magnetism and fluorescent property and can be applied to functional metal org. material. [on SciFinder(R)]
