Аннотация:The review highlights spatial and spectral features as well as strong photon correlations of non-classical multi-photon squeezed electromagnetic fields. We consider the theoretical approach based on the Schmidt mode analysis and able to describe analytically peculiarities of such bright squeezed light with high agreement with experimental data. Methods to control and manage the mode content, degree of squeezing and photon entanglement are analyzed and the scheme of non-linear interferometer is shown to be very promising for these purposes. Practical applications based on the non-classical features of squeezed fields including precise measurements of dispersion characteristics of media in the THz frequency range and high-resolution registration of weak phase and angular perturbations are discussed.
