Аннотация:The effect of gamma radiation on the molecularstructure of TFE telomers with hydroxyl terminalgroups was studied for the first time. It was established that the radiation resistance of TFE/Freon + ethanol telomers, which degrade according to a mechanism characteristic of PTFE, was lower than that of PTFE by a factor of 2. As a result of radiolysis in air, the terminal groups of telomers were detached; the telomer chain was broken, and, accordingly, the average chainlength decreased with the formation of new terminal – COOH groups. This confirmed the conclusions on the formation of carboxyl groups made earlier based on a study of the influence of gamma radiation on the molecular structure and properties of hydrophobic telomer coatings of fiberglass.
